![]() | redirects and getting search engine recognition I see these sorts of questions all the time, but I did not see one specifically for this question. So pardon me if this has already been asked: I bought a number of nice domain names and am ready to upload my first pages. (lots of help from folks here, so "thanks"). Anyhow there's one website I havent yet found the right name for as a standalone website/domain name. I am eager to get this website published though so I plan to put it on a portal type of site that I bought and is ready to be published. The portal is very generic type of name example "Westcoastfishing.com" ????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/search-engines/699756-redirects-and-getting-search-engine-recognition.html So I have say a business that sells lures, I want to first put it on the portal site before I find the right domain name for it. Will this kill the search engine recognition from Google, etc. ? I mean when I change the domain name and have it on it's own domain name will the spiders go through the process all over again? So basicallly I would be losing time in the long run. Thank you for your comments.. |

![]() | what I understand from your post, you want to know if you will switch the domain then will it harm the ranking and traffic. If I am right then here is your solution. You have to place a 301 redirect code on your domain name. PM me for more help. |
