Keywords in domains and SEO, but with a twist

I've used keyword-rich domains several times to quickly get onto the front page of Google; it's been an important part of my SEO strategy. But up till now it's been with domains like rockclimbingnow.com (example, not one of my actual sites) if I wanted to rank for "rock climbing." I usually just throw an extra word onto the end.
????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/search-engines/682464-keywords-domains-search-engine-optimization-but.html

But now I'm considering a domain that would be like rockclimbingtopia.com, with a non-word attached to the end that wouldn't be a separate word. So here's the question: Is there any difference, as far as Google is concerned, between a phrase like "rock climbing now" (all separate words) and "rock climbingtopia" (with the "topia" part of the previous word) if I want to rank for "rock climbing"?

Hopefully that makes sense. Any help is appreciated!

I think it would be fine. We use to have a site called <keyword><Random Noun>.com

it worked great!

That's not a dictionary word, so the extra characters will probably be parsed as a separate word. As far as that goes, search engines are good at "stemming" so even IF it made a "real word" they should recognize the root.

i think there is a difference in both approaches. Google will rank stand alone words on web addresses better, but the spiders are smart enough to identify roots of web addresses.
