My Google Result Rank gone

Hi,

My site went down for about 4 days while I migrated the site to a new server. It is back up now, but I noticed that I don't get a lot of referrals like I used to from Google. When I searched for my keyword that I used to be 1st result on the 1st page, it isn't there anymore. It's not even on the 2nd or 3rd, 4th page.

Will I get it back? How long will it take until Google puts me back to where I was?

I think that your SERP competitors have done more then you last time and that was the main reason of the dropping.

You should NEVER take your site offline to change servers!

If googlebot tries to spider your site and finds nothing or "under construction" type pages, they won't show those URL's to searchers and they'll probably remove you from the index. Give it a little time to come back.

I think it will take time to show your listings again.
In the mean time just concentrate on link building.
It will make you to get higher SERPS fast.

No, my site is old it's been around for 4 years and it has been on the first page/first result all the time for certain keywords. I don't see a good reason for my competitors to drop me so far that I can't even find my page. I even clicked all the way to page 17 and my site wasn't even showing up. I think google just removed me because during the 4 days, the site was down or a blank page.

I didn't, the server had issues (I was using too much resources and it crashed). Sometimes the server provider has problems. I had to move to a new server because of that.

I have a lot of good sites linking to me. I think I will have to wait for google to recalculate my ranking. It's odd, I'm stll listed for yahoo and bing though but it may have dropped a little but still on front page.

Yahoo and Bing are the same thing, and they are slower to index than google is, Give it some time, you could try pinging your site using some proxies,

or do some linkbuilding targeted to the keywords you want (never hurts)

Most likely BigG will have you back in the Serps soon,

regards,
I resubmitted my sitemap to Google. And your right, it is slower because now my results aren't showing up either for a particular keyword it used to be 1st result on. What is this!? Does Google Yahoo and Bing share the same results?

Also does this happen to anyone else before? I read on the net that sometimes Google does a dance (meaning it will put your site on query removing all your results because it's trying to move you up for those keywords). Anyone know about this and does it happen towards the end of the month?

Cancer Survivorship
Regardless of what caused the 4 days downtime, if they spider your site and find a dead site for an extended period of time, bye-bye.
????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/showthread.php?t=679143

Do a site:yourdomain.tld from a google search box. Are any of your pages still in the index? (i.e. was it de-indexed or just "demoted"?)

Webmaster Tools is your friend. Verify the site (or make sure it's still verified, if you had previously done so.), look at the crawl stats, check for crawl errors or other reported problems.

If you didn't do anything else to cause the problem (like buy links, link to bad neighborhoods), and this coincided with the downtime, then the down time is probably the reason - sit tight and it will be back. Sooner if g'bot had been visiting frequently/regularly and you had good crawl depth.

I still have results doing that. I think I just got demoted cause I still get referrals from Google.

I checked the crawl stats and the last thing it had was on September 23rd, when my site was down. There were like 404 errors reported in the stats.

I hope you're right, but Google crawls on my site everyday. I also just changed the crawl rate to fastest today. I see it when I visit my forum and it's listed as an anonymous user. I just don't know how long it takes for my site to be 1st rank again. Maybe a week?

Not found 1
Soft 404s 60

UPDATE: Good news! For one of the keywords I am rank 1 again. It looks like it's starting to climb back up to its original rank. I hope it gets even higher than before for my other keywords.

I just checked my rankings for all my keywords, they have all returned to the first page and most are first result.

What did I do? I resubmitted my sitemap but I don't think that did anything. I think I just needed to wait a few days for it to reappear.

Thanks everyone for helping.

Just one question.
????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/showthread.php?t=679143

Approximately how many days did it take from your server down to ranking 1st again? Seven days ?

Thanks in advance.
