The Big G has spoken.

http://googleblog.blogspot.com/2010/...d-of-type.html

The story is all over the tech blogs. Lots of different opinions.

I've done some keyword testing and wow if you have traffic coming from certain long tail phrases you better check out the "new look". Basically your long tail phrase might not appear in the "suggested" list and people might get lazy.

It all depends on what your long tail phrases are and how they are structured.

Test and more testing.

I'm definitely interested to see how this affects certain keywords. It just goes to show you how important it is to keep up with the times! If you don't adapt to the latest trends, you're going to suffer.

(and, personally, I'm not a big fan of the new look. SEO or no SEO - It's kind of annoying to have a bunch of suggestions pop up every time I try to type something!)

I think if there is long keyword typed in means that someone is looking for something exact. And if your site is #1 that would the most relevant one.

I think any SEO starts from long keywords.

Personaly, I am not a big fan of it, not because I feel it hurts my traffic for long tail keyword phrases, but it just seems like a distraction for me and others who has a wandering eye when a simple search on a topic is done.

I prefer the classic version of the google instant, but I guess it is a matter of time to get used to it.
