Using shared hosting account for more than one domain bad for SEO?

Is Using shared hosting account for more than one domain bad for SEO?

i currently have a $50 a month webserver, but was thinking about getting rid of it for a basic $4.99 month godaddy share hosting account..

i have about 30 or 40 domain names, with 5 thats high ranked in SEO under some good keywords...

Would i loose my rank? or it would stay the same?

Thanks

Cancer Survivorship
Not a problem unless:

- The shared host has serious availability or speed issues
- The shared host is hosting "bad neighborhoods" and/or spammers
- The shared host doesn't allow some type of SEO critical configuration (like .htaccess files)

One more thing -- if you plan to link your multiple domains to each other for SEO purposes, it won't help because they'll likely be on the same C-class IP.

In regards to your question, my understanding is that it would depend on the types of sites that are on that shared server. If you are on shared hosting plan, their is a slight possibility that one of those domains on that shared hosting server could be a "spammer site" and that could effect your rankings. In other words, if you have good rankings for a few of your sites and it is working out for you so far, is it worth the money you are going to save, or... why risk it. Try going to whois.domaintools.com and do a reverse ip lookup and see what sites is hosted on the server, once you set it up.

In addition by the way, that 4.99 hosting plan that Godaddy offers does not host multiple domains. The deluxe hosting does and it is 6.99 a month. If you are worried about cost and not losing rankings, then sign up for the 6.99 Deluxe hosting plan and then add a dedicated ip for an additional 2.99 so then for 10 bucks a month you take care of both issues.

I do not think that is a problem at all. If your web host is stable and have good uptime - relax and be patient.
