is it legitimate to use multiply.com in link building?

is it okay to use multiply.com in link building?

here's what i did.. i opened a new multiply.com account and customized its web pages similar to my other site.. i wrote in my multiply.com blog something related to my other site and put the URL of that site (as referral for more info) at the end of my multiply.com blog post..

is this a good way of link building.. is this legitimate SEO? does google adsense allow this?

I will suggest to try to get quality backlinks. The links you mentioned, does not sound like quality backlinks.

You can simply post your articles in top article directories and in return you will get some backlinks.

If you create a blog on some other site, then you will first have to build backlinks for that site so that it is ranked good by SEs.

The quality of backlinks is the main thing. One backlink from PR3 page can outrank many PR0 links.

This is legitimate as long as the content you've published on multiply.com is not a duplicate one. I agree with angilina that a one backlink from PR3 can outrank many PR0 links but nobody knows that those PR0 links are going to remain PR0 forever. There's a possibility that those pages will jump from PR0 to something 1 or maybe 2 and in some cases 3.
I think each and every legitimate link pointing to your site is important regardless of the PR or the page on which your link is located.
