Links from forum signatures are backlinks so they will help: but only a little as they are not coming from relevant pages. You can see the PR of threads, number of high outbound links on each thread, relevancy of threads and your site etc.

Forum signatures are great when your forum's topic match your signature's website. (gardening forum and your gardening tips website-one example). You'll get traffic and your sig will match all the content around your sig.

I think it depends on the situation. Obviously you want something similar, but it can't be too similar. Think about it, if you're in a forum all about Lemmy Kilmister's mustache and you're advertising a forum about Lemmy Kilmister's mustache, it's probably not going to draw much attention because it's the same. All the users you're targeting are already in a forum that talks about the same exact stuff. Now, if you're in a forum for Lemmy Kilmister's mustache and you're advertising a forum for Lemmy Kilmister's mole, you'll be flooded with traffic.

I was just thinking they were getting ignored as when I was offering help on a forum I would add a sneaky SEO url to my website (Keyword with my URL embedded in it) which was the way I did seo ages ago worked great. Was a quick fix and worked great compared to my account with 1000+ posts.

I might login to my old forum accounts and add my website links.

Signatures forums definitely helps to get some traffic on your site. Specially well written attractive signatures.. You certainly can not ignore signature links in the forum.

Installed analytics on the site and apparently 90% of my traffic is direct I have good customer service for most. I dont need to sell much to stay in business but right now I am expanding so I am trying to boost sales.

Alot of money out there if I got some rankings on ebay.

Added my links to the forum and hoping I can see some good results a month down the track.

Forum signatures are very useful. The anchor text pointed to a page is a positive thing. If you have multiple accounts to different forums, you should change your anchor text (just not use the same nchor because you can be detected as spammer).

Where ever your link appear,it's the overall page content effect the link juice,if you link appear on the page that full of relevant keyword it does help but Hey,putting too many links together without any text within the link might categorized as a link farm.Beware and be natural when building link.
