Help! New MiniSite....SEO...What next?

With the exception of a few minor adjustments, I've just finished my first "mini site". I'm using a WordPress template that doesn't look anything like a traditional blog. Its hosted on a strong key word domain and I've writing alot of original key word rich content. Here is what I've done with it.

- I've used a WordPress plug in to build a Google friendly XML sitemap, which I've submitted to google & google webmaster tools

- I've installed SEO Plug In for WP

- I've installed 2 key word text links on seperate, related websites (they are still not showing as inbound links in webmaster tools)
????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/search-engines/602395-new-minisite-search-engine-optimization-what.html

- I've had the URL w/ a brief description submitted to over 1000 directories

- I've submitted each page individually to Google & Bing (Yahoo next)

- I've added internal links with appropriate key word phrases

This has all happened in the last week/few days. My traffic is very slowly increasing each day, but only by a few visitors each day. My question is:

What should I do next? (aside from be patient)

I'm planning on doing some article submissions but other than that I'm not sure where to go. As much as I want to be patience and wait, I also don't want to sit around when I could be putting work into it.

What am I missing? Please help.

Thanks!

Do blog posting on regular basis. In the sense, update it regularly. Frequently updated websites are given preference by the search engines.

Get busy with your next site(s) and don't look at it for six months to a year. (I realize some sites require regular posts, but not all do.) I have some thin sites on keyword domains which I forgot about for a year or more. I am always astonished how much change happens when I do that compared to the change I feel when I am checking them frequently.

Wait and another thing

As mentioned right before you should wait to see some results. Keep building more links every week. You might even have to spend sometime in the big G sandbox for your keywords.

Also you could guest blog on some sites related to your website. Thats good for direct, targeted traffic and a few backlinks depending on the site where you are blogging.

All great advice. Thanks everyone. I still haven't read up enough on social networking back links / bookmarks but thats a next step.

ANOTHER Question
I've set my post/page display in WP to show my pages as domainname.com/page-name is this as effective or better than domainname.com/pagename?

I'm wondering if the "-" hurts or helps. Please reply if you have insight on this. Thank you!
