What is better SEO? 1 long FAQ Post or an FAQ Page w/ Multiple Posts?

I have a mini site w/ 6 pages. One page is an FAQ.

What is better for SEO?

Having a long post on the FAQ with 20 questions & answers?

or

Making each of the 20 Questions & Answers a Seperate Post?

It seems like having 20 posts w/ 20 headings & 20 updates might be better for page rank & overall SEO.

Am I right? Can someone break it a down a little for me.

Its a Wordpress template that looks more like a menu website than a blog.

Thank you in advance for helping!

Think like a user of your site:

If you were using your own site: then what will be beneficial for you?

I suggest you do not much worry about SEs: do everything that is beneficial for your users.

Thanks Angilina for getting back to me...

I agree 100% that the website user comes first.

I definitely don't want to put together a site that makes the user feel like they are taking a back seat to SEO. However, I think its still very possible to keep a site readable, enjoyable and easy to access, while making it Optimized for The Google.

I don't think either option I presented would alienate anyone or come across as force fed SEO. One option offers all the information in one post and the other offers the same information, just in multiple posts.

So just to reiterate and make sure I'm clear about my question...

Will a long single FAQ post (12 questions & answers) be more effective for SEO...
OR

Will 12 Posts (1 Question and 1 answer each) be better for SEO?
Please, insight into why or why not would be really appreciated. Thanks!!!

generally a FAQ page with both one page or multiple page is good too for SEO, according to your content and navigation. If you have a very long FAQ page, for example your question and answer is very long content with detail explanation, better you use multiple page or different page. But if your question and answer only simple content, better you use one page.

But if you want to use one page, you should create internal navigation among your point of question with link. So, when visitor click that link, they will be taken to the question below on that page too directly without scroll up and down again. SE look that good when visitor read it in few minutes (long time duration) and visitor friendly.

Is the content that would be contained all around a similar topic? If not, I would break it up. Not sure what kind of link popularity your site has -- if your site (or whereever the FAQ is going to be) doesn't have a whole lot of links pointing at it, I would go for 1 or a very limited number of pages.
