Ok guys I just want to share with you a real competitor to google which was recently in news. It is called Wolfram Alpha.

Its is a search engine (Not really) hat provides accurate results to your queries and a whole new manner

JUST LINKING TO EXTERNAL ARTICLES IS NOT ALLOWED. THIS IS NOT ARTICLES DIRECTORY OR A SOCIAL BOOKMARKING SITE.

do you honestly believe that wolfram alpha is a "real competitor" to google, when they don't even crawl the web?

Dream on.

WolframAlpha will compete against Wikipedia and similar information sites, not search engines.

WolfraAlpha does not do a websearch. Its a database full of information that can be mixed together in many ways.

There were many Google Killers who failed to impress anyone in the past

Google is a big name. You can compete Google with Yahoo, but I think competing Google with a new comer is not gonna work

I do not think it is completely impossible. there is a chance. maybe if they improve their algorithms a bit. Google also came up beating the top search engines of its time. So why cannot another company come up?

I watched this on BBC News but the way in which it works will not make it popular and would be hard to implement on a large scale for users to use it.

But with how it works and what it does is very nice.

lol. i'm not going to bother. i think that the meta keywords for the seo site in your signature speaks volumes.

The keywords appear so not because I put them. All the tags i choose for all posts come up as keywords in wordpress. if you have experience with wordpress you might know what I am talking about

actually, i do have experience in wordpress and this doesn't happen to me.

it's just especially funny to see such a thing in an seo site. it's like if a hosting website experienced downtime or if a graphics website had only text.

yeah they don't crawl the web, its acts as computational knowledge engine, not search engine.

Competing with google is tough but it is not difficult.. New search engine should give more services and better SERps than google.. The most important thing is it should not give up the race...

wolfram alpha isnt a search engine as it is clearly mentioned on their FAQs page. Regarding your statement that it is a google competitor made me laugh.
