Article submission will improve SEO?

I was offered to use article submission services. What are pros and cons of that then?

Article submission is good for a website if you are targetting good PR Article directories ... Just do a search on this forum and you will find some and you can submit your articles there for good results

1. Submitting same article to a lot of directories would mean a lot of duplicate content so it would be great to submit rewritten / unique article to each directory.
(this means, a LOT of work is involved if you want the best results)

2. Once you have submitted the article to a directory (even if it's unique), most directories offer articles for free reprint (if resource box info; your links) are retained. That means you get even more links if your article is good, at the same time, you will see more duplicate content.

If you are targetting on your PR achievement, I would also recommend article submission. But keep in mind, that not all the links that you get from articles submission is relevant to your site's topics. Google would rather love a link from PR0 site which is relevant to your site's content than a link from higher PR site, but without any similar topic.

provided you're submitting original articles that are promoting your site, usually you can put your link on the by-line and the resource box, sometimes on resource boxes only but do take advantage since now article directories will give you a profile page, where you can list all your links thus benefiting from the pr of the domain, and the backlinks.

Yes, article submission will improve your ranking and traffic... You could also do some directory submission, forum posting, blog commenting, blog posting, press release submission, social bookmarking..

So it's better to target niche article directory for listings than the general one.

I think, if a Person A submit one article to many sites and link back to his own site, then even if duplicate content issue is caused, the will be a problem for the article directory and will cause no harm to Person A's websites.

As if duplicate content on other sites can harm the site to which the duplicate article links, then people will start to do this for their competitors.

I think article submission is a good way to get some ok backlinks and little traffic too. You should only submit to top 10 or 15 directories. Submitting to more directories will most probably not bring any good.

The best strategy is to submit at least 40% unique article on each article directory. You can use Article Post Robot.. This works very fine..

Yes article submissions are the way to go not because Google has encouraged it but also to usually article submissions are FREE and do not cost anything so it will definitely cut back marketing funds. In addition, thanks muckle.martinfor by the way for posting some article locations, some of those I have never heard b4 and will add to my list
