Google algo has changed from counting the numbers of links that points to your site to the number of trusted sites that links to you so links from trusted site is much more valuable than the number of links to your site.

Remember, Quality is better than quantity. One quality link is better than a bunch of crap links.

Make sure that you build links from sites that are related to your niche.

That is honest and reasonable. That will make Internet cleaner and I believe that will speedup process of link farm web sites dieing.

I do believe in their one aspect and that is build the website for the visitors not for search engines and you will see the traffic your self. This is quite right ... once you will be able to build the faith of your visitors you will be able to see more and more coming through and they will do marketing and publicity on your behalf. You do not have to spend even a single penny for that.

Google actually trust on relevancy.Keyword should be relevant and unique.Content is the king of any site. there should be no duplicate content in the site.

I think that links from trusted sites were always important and nowadays, they worth a lot in SEs eyes. All backlinks are ok, but backlinks that comes from relevant pages will help a lot and links from trusted sites will help gain Google trust.

Relevant backlinks works great for SERP. Relevance means if your site is about ringtones, then backlinks are from other ringtones site, or mobile phones sites.

Trusted source , i run 5 blogs and i never done seo for them except Social media networking at start , but now my all blog have pr 4 to pr5 and i'm daily quite enough visitors on them ... An other thing when i ever i wrote an article it'll be automatically index in google search just in one hour , So thats the source my dear , my own trusted source

Getting link from authoritative sites ensures Google trust. So links to your site should be from trusted sources.

I think google trusts .edu domains and the sites which are older in age.

i have tried finding such sites, but it's hard to get backlinks from them, until you pay high.

The bottom line is "Good and Unique content" but dont forget to remember this thing that search engines like to index those articles highers that have about 500 - 700 words. Keywords relevancy, keyword density, and having xml site map with About and contact page is also must. It helps you look like a legit site and they dont hesitate to index you higher in their rankings.
