· #1 | | Account Closed | Seo? I have just started whipping up a site. Its a small website consisting of about 7 pages ands its all html. No php nothing like that. My question and concern is the search engines. When I update the page, I have to litterly change some of the code and then re upload it. Will this affect my SERPs? Will the spiders think that I have more content or I just changed it?
I'm asking this because it is a plain html site. Reuploading the site source code everytime there is different news, has me a bit worried. Will spiders see that im updating my content or will they beleave im just changing the page again?
Anybody like to shine some light on this? |

| search engines can't tell whether you've made the change on your hard drive then uploaded or whether you directly changed the code on the server.
if you added more content, then spiders will see that you added more content.
if you merely changed content, then spiders will see that you changed the content.

| You've nothing to worry about, as long as you don't drastically change the content of the site you'll be seo wise. Adding new and fresh content is good from search engines point of view, of course as long as you're not trying to fool the bot and doing something silly, like adding duplicated content or someone else's scraped content. |
