![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I can't really give you an full out explanation now why your site ranks as it does but i can tell you that Google does not give any preference to extensions in overall. You could get some advantage if you would optimize for a term related to a Geographical location and with a extension of that location you do may have a small edge. But in general...no. |

![]() | i m agree with damion, actually google is not giving any priority to .org but if your have any domain .gov and .edu than google give preference to those domains. but if u have your targeted keyword in your domain than it will be beneficial for u and if u target uk market and u have .co.uk domain than it will be help to get ranking in google.co.uk search. |

The reason you may think this is because you perhaps see good SERP's for certain keywords from these extensions but that is not extension related. The reason why it happens that these extensions score well is there is unique quality content to be found on these websites with a .edu or .gov extension and as a result being linked to from a lot of websites. So Google would conclude this is a website with authority on the subject because it has received so many backlinks thus votes. The extension itself is not the reason why these domain extension score well in the results, it's the content and the amount of backlinks these pages have accumulated over time because of this quality content.

But then comes the original question why my .ORG above is first place and the others are most not even in the first 50 results, specially when everything else is equal (with the exception of the .COM.BR)?

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I noticed that INTERCAMBIOCULTURAL.org holds a first place on the .com Google but not on the .nl Google And the .com.br shows the domain with the .com.br extension at #4 I didn't had the time to dig further in the matter but for what i have seen i can only say - Interesting! and odd at the same time! |

The first time I saw I thought "WHO is there in first place??!!" Hey, wait a second, that site belongs to ME!!! No idea of traffic, I have no statistics like Google Analytics and 1Plus does not provide anything. But Adsense is counting! And I am too scared to even Touch anything there...
And once more I tottally agree with you: Interesting! and odd at the same time! Will enjoy while I still can!

![]() Actually there are many many 1plus domains ranked very high for their corresponding keywords. Unfortunately, most positive feedback comes to us via PM / email whereas most critiques are posted publically. I guess this is the way of things generally so we should nt complain. If i were to offer you a small tip, you might wanna add your own custom news link column instead of using the default..

The INTERCAMBIOCULTURAL.ORG is a brand new domain, a PR0 competing with PR5 high budget established web sites for years. My content is minimal as well. ????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/showthread.php?t=300873 I never saw that happening before. Just like most people here.
Actually, perhaps you remember that I myself sent you some feedback and suggestions, via PM. Yes, I also have other domains at 1Plus that are PR4 (some times PR5) as well others with Thousands of backlinks, which were created mostly by interlinking my 1Plus domains.
However, for my INTERCAMBIOCULTURAL.ORG, I will leave it the way it is at least something happens in the meantime.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Still FIRST Place!!! Still FIRST Place!!! And now among 1,600,000+ results!!! Made some minor changes and still getting very first place on Google! Initially, I thought that this domain was registered by the first time ever, by me. I was wrong. I just found out that that domain was previously registered in 1999 by a multi-million dollar company that, by some reason, let the domain drop. But, by receiving over 100 uniques a day, of targeted traffic, without any current promotion, it is not bad at all. This domain remained unregistered for 3 years, from 2003 to 2006, according to Archive.net The point: Together with the age of the few backlinks done years ago, including from Yahoo Dir, Google appears to take into consideration the age of the web site from Archive.net or similar, not just from the Whois register date. ????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/showthread.php?t=300873 Interesting? |

![]() ![]() | Its because the keyword is not mentioned on the older domain (body text or title) ...well language is different. Compared to the new one.. its in the title and body text which makes it a bit more relevant in my opinon. Try changing it and see what happens. |

????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/showthread.php?t=300873 Before I did not have them and was in first place the same way. I just wanted to make it more relevant since it is a park page and hopefully get better paying keywords.
