Php Image Host is a set of php scripts that let you run your own free and paid image hosting site.

You can see the scripts in action here (login with username "demo", password "demodemo", or create an account).

Main Features:

Update - the script now has support for bandwidth monitoring / limiting for image views (requires mod_rewrite for apache installed on your server) and uses PayPal subscriptions with IPN processing for payments from your users upgrading their accounts (you must have a premier or business PayPal account)

Fully automated image hosting site with fully featured admin control panel for managing site settings, members, payments and uploaded images. Members can create an account, upload images, and view the images they upload.

Two types of account, free and paid. All account features can be set in the admin control panel, including max filesize, max image width & height, max uploaded images and more.

Easy to customize design and layout via editing 1 css styles file and the header and footer file, or edit the main page content online in the admin area.

Automatically add your own branding message / watermark to images uploaded by your members (can be turned on or off for both free and paid members).

Built-in banner ad rotator for adding your advertising banners to the site.

Members can sign up for a free account, and optionally (set in admin) must confirm their email addresses.

Members can upgrade to a paid account for extra features.

Automatic PayPal Instant Payment Notification script handles upgrades with no need for you to do anything.

Members can easily email the urls of their images to their friends by selecting the images to send and entering their friends' email addresses. Admin can add (automatically) their own text, links, ads, etc to all emails sent.

Admin can search for members by name, username, email, date joined, etc, view a list of members, manually add members, delete members, upgrade or downgrade members, suspend members and edit members.

Admin can view all uploaded images as thumbnails, search for uploaded images by name, size, type, member, date, etc, bulk delete images and view full size images.

View all account upgrade PayPal payments received by date, transaction id#, etc, and view full PayPal details for each payment.

Configure the features available for both free members and paid members,
including: number of images allowed, maximum image sizes, simultaneous uploads, branding and more.

Modify most site settings from the settings page in the admin area, including site name and email messages sent via the site.

Editable page content and email templates include predefined variables that will be replaced by the relevant values, for example, changing the name of your site or the account features in the admin area is automatically updated on all pages of the site.

Visit www.phpimagehost.com for the current price. This gives you the right to install and run the scripts on 1 website only. If you wish to install and run the scripts on another site, you must purchase another licence.

If you would like me to install it for you I'll do so for free, provided you have the cpanel control panel and provide me with your cpanel and ftp login details.

Please ensure your hosting meets the minimum requirements listed on that page (php 4.x with gd image library, mysql database) before ordering. In most cases you should receive an email with instructions on how to download your copy of the script within minutes of making payment.

some questions I've been asked (with answers)

Q) Can I remove the "powered by phpimagehost" link at the bottom of the page?

A) Yes, but you must let me know the url of the site you are using phpimagehost on

Q) How do I make money with phpimagehost?

A) i) advertising - phpimagehost comes with a built in banner ad rotator - ads are displayed to all visitors to the site when they upload or browse their images

ii) paid memberships - members can upgrade to a paid account for more features (upload larger images, more storage, etc). Payment and upgrades are handled automatically via a PayPal Instant Payment Notification script.

Obviously you need to promote your site to get members to it. All images uploaded can have your branding added to the bottom (eg. hosted by www.yoursite.com) so everytime a user posts a link to their image, they are also advertising your site!

This is a great script. Bought it and set it up on www.justimages.info

The only feature that I would recommend, would be to limit the user's bandwidth from within the admin control panel. For instance, 500mb for free users, and 3gb for paid users (or something similar).

New Features

User Features

As with other account features, admin can set whether these apply to free, paid or both types of account:

Resize Images - Users can now resize their images. New sizes are limited to the maximum set for the user's account type. Images can be resized in place, or the resized image can be saved as a copy of the original.

Rename Images - Users can now rename their images, as well as give their images an alternate name from the filename when they upload them.

Image Galleries - Users can now create galleries for their images. Galleries have the advantage for users of only having to send one url to their friends to let them view their images, and to site admin of being able to show your ad banners on every gallery page / image viewed.

Example Gallery

Galleries show all images as clickable thumbnails. When someone clicks on a thumbnail it shows a larger version of the image. Users can click again to view the image actual size.

Admin Features

List & Delete Galleries - admin can view and delete a users's galleries.

IP logging and banning - i.p. addresses are now logged for every image upload. Admin can ban the ip addresses from within the control panel for any user who is abusing their terms and conditions. Users from banned i.p. addresses cannot login to the site or upload or modifiy their images.

New upload checking - admin can now quickly check newly uploaded images to ensure they do not break the terms and conditions. All uploads are initially marked as "unchecked". Admin can suspend users and ban ip addresses at the same time as deleting images just by checking a checkbox on the images admin page.

Hey, sounds like you spent a lot of work on this script $30 is a killer price! I`ve been programming my own for the past couple days and it's a lot of work to make them really nice and functional!

I do have one question for you - how are you handling "banned" ips? Are you dissalowing them to even view the site (htaccess..?) or are you simply not allowing them to upload/register again? Just curious

It also now uses PayPal subscriptions with IPN processing for payments from your users upgrading their accounts (you must have a premier or business PayPal account), and lets you set prices for monthly, 3-monthly, 6-monthly and yearly payment options.

I've completely revamped the www.phpimagehost.com site - any feedback on that would be really appreciated. As long as its all working as it should (and I have tested it thoroughly) anyone purchasing a copy should now receive an email with download instructions within a few minutes of payment. I will still provide installation if required.

I've also installed a knowledgebase / helpdesk at http://phpimagehost.com/helpdesk/ for any support questions - although the knowledgebase and troubleshooter are completely empty at the moment...

To ToddW: Thanks for your comments re. the IPs, the script currently gives the option of just banning from using the site, but also generates the lines to enter into a .htaccess file if the user prefers to use that method. I hope you're having success with your script - I agree, it always turns out to be more work than it appears at first
