So you will sell iFate v. 1.1 to a fellow NP member for $75 when it is full of security holes (do a Google search) and the developers have left for good leaving peoples without any support etc etc...? This doesn't feel right does it?

To tell you the truth I never installed or investigated the product at all as I mostly purchase products for clients based on their wishes and if they decide to go for another product or custom development it ends up for sale. The only thing I am aware of is that their site doesn't exist anymore and that only because I tried to grab the latest version prior selling the license. So no, I do not feel bad about selling a product I purchased for 358.25 to someone else for 75$ as I am sure the possible buyer will do the investigation to see if the product is right for him/her and let the buyer decide him/herself if it's worth fixing any possible bugs or not. If you look at my first post you will notice that I posted my knowledge of the company no longer existing, meaning a possible buyer would clearly know there is no support or updates.

Technically every product has bugs / holes no matter if ifdate, phpbb or even Realchat Chat Server (the chat namepros uses). I dealed with realchat before and there are also reported issues like the ability to login with non authorized usernames etc. However, you have to understand that I am not the developer and every product can be exploited. It's really up to the enduser to ensure an application is safe or the right thing to use.

All that said, I strongly advice all interested parties to check a site like http://www.securityfocus.com/ to find out about possible issues (not only for ifdate, but for everything you want to install on your server)
