Question I think this is the right place. Question about installing hacks on phpbb forum.

Yes...I was wondering how one would find and how one could install a Cash Hack and Shop Hack for a phpbb forum. I don't have the forum up yet...but when I do I think I would be interested in installing these two hacks. Can someone help?

Thanks in advance.

I just installed both on webgear's forum, all you need to do is edit files in wordpad or notepad (VERY CAREFULLY) which takes 10-20 minutes (depends on the hack)... The first time you install a hack you will probaly get errors, but keep trying.. and always remember to back up your files!

the hacks readme are as simple as

--open-- header.php

--find--
?>

--add before--
<some stuff here>

--find--
<?php

-add, after--
<! --Inclblahblah-->

and so on, theres nothing to know, you may get errors, but if you follow EXACTLY then you will get no errrors, also, when it says open /templates/subsilver you have to open /templates/TEMPLAENAME replace template name with the temp your using, it is easy, people who dont know basic html can do it

heh... modding a forum using a template other then subsilver could get confusing.. When you get to the part where you have to edit the template, the direction aren't always right when using something other then subsilver.

yeah, improvisation always helps, i wouldnt reccomend anyone start trying it on a site not using subsilver, set it up on subsilver 1st before anything else, then try it on other temps

Hmm...ok. Thanks for all of the input. I already downloaded the files. I don't plan on setting up the forum anytime soon. but when I do...where would I upload the files to, etc. I'm still a little confused. I don't know. Hey...I might just get you to do it alegend, if you would. cuz I don't trust myself

/shop --upload to-- */shop
/images/shop --upload to-- */images/shop

its as simple as that, they explain, or on the otherhand, you could get one of us to do it and prob lose some NP muhahaha but install a forum and test it a few times, youll get the hang of it
