Question Referer code in HTML for affiliate site

Hi all,

Maybe a strange question but I try anyway.

1. I got a domain (of course I have :-)

2. I'm an affiliate

3. I used httrack to download the affiliate website and want to use it on my domain.

Problem: my affiliate code is gone when a user clicks on the "Download software" button.

Is there a fix in the Meta tags referer or will some browsers override this tag?

All suggestions are welcome.

Thanks very much
Bart

If you want to do it like that, why not just mask the domain to your affiliate link since it'll look about the same?

However, if you clone one site, the product will be exactly the same and it's basically going to the website without any special referrer tracking code passed in. So, I guess you have to modify the clone like links or something.

Can't really tell you what's the problem unless I get to see it.

Is this a white-label site that the merchant provides for affiliates to use? If so, they should have instructions for downloading and inserting your affiliate code. Contact support or the aff manager if you can't figure it out.

If it's a white-label site, why use httrack as they will give you the source codes along with the instructions.

No, not a white label site. Just an exact copy via httrack. The Thing is to get my visitors to the signup page with my affiliate idea. I still didn't find a solution :-/
