wordpress - local profiles needed

I need to retain members registrations locally at our site, within a local database and not the central WP database.

What would it cost, and can you do it

If you're referring to using a myblog.wordpress.com blog then you cannot; but you can set up your own wordpress site on your own server and then everything would be local.
