I am starting a dev for sounds so that peeps can find them by a vast search capability. ie, whale, star trek, boards breaking, ocean sounds, etc....

What I don't have are the sounds. Millions of them are on the net, and are not copy righted due to the age of the sound file.

I wish I had a guy that could cruise the net, and grab me every single free sound file they can get their hands on.

think like tom sawyer. make it user contributed and offer an incentive to your users. run dont walk in this direction and your lawyer will thank you. actually you will thank me because you will not have to sell your house to pay your lawyer to defend you from infringement suits.

do you have a designer already or do you need one too in addition to your programmer. whos your market or is it just everyone lol. what do you have that the current market is not supplying? love your dream!

or just disregard all that and PM me with how much $$ you're offering to do the legwork for you, I know some idle hands.

I agree that is a great idea. But there should be some sound files already, and let the users to complete them

Hi there,
It's possible to achieve this if you know where the files are located.
I can write you a script that crawls links from a list of websites and stores the information (file url, title, duration, etc,) in a database.

Hi again, you'll probably wanna take a look at MP3 Search Engine Script. It may have what you need.
I can also look at Rapidshare Search Engine and limit the script search options to sound files only.
