Assitance with .htaccess redirect $10

Have a dynamic site ..

and we need ..

"htt://oursite.com/<state>/chart_data.php?<data>" go to "htt://oursite.com/chart_data.php?<data>" using a .htaccess redirect.

We have pages City pages that we cannot get dynamic charts working on because there is no "real" city pages.. ...

I guess .htaccess should look like this (if i understood a problem correctly):

  RewriteEngine on

RewriteRule ^([a-zA-Z0-9]+)/chart_data.php /chart_data.php [R,QSA] 

????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/programming/505131-assitance-with-htaccess-redirect-10-a.html

If <state> may contain symbols others than letters and numbers, just add them into []
