I am just getting into the idea of developing my own pages. I am very interested in designing (building??) web pages and so on. I just went through a basic tutorial at W3 Schools (Link) and it seemed to be very helpful but I know I couldn't build a decent page with just basic HTML!!!!

What I would like to know is what should I spend a lot of time trying to get to know, what are some things that would really help me early in the stages of my learning? If you have any advice for someone that is really eager to be able to build please put it here!!! Also references to previous threads would be greatly appreciated. I can give NP$ if you would like!!

Aside from HTML, you'll find that picking up a programming language would be very helpful. The most used and the easiest to learn would be PHP. JavaScript is also very useful.

As well as that maybe have a look into css. It really depends on exactly what you would like to build but If you now html basics have a look into getting a simple site online and look into improving it etc that would be the best way to learn.
