redirection to a new window


Hi i want to know if it is possible to set something in htaccess to make all the external links openable in a new window...

with out tho have to modify each individual link in the blog

However if your using a decent blog tool like WordPress, I'm sure there might be a plugin.

I very much doubt it is possible. End of the day it is the browser that decides if a link opens in a new window (making the decision based on the html, it does not have to honor what the html states).

I think I would put this in the 'absolutely not' basket for one reason: how a window opens is defined by the HTML output (and ultimately the browser, as peter@flexiwebhost says) and htaccess is only related to accessing the HTML type output.

That is to say, by the time the server is sending the HTML to the browser, htaccess is long forgotten and so it cannot have any effect on the HTML that is outputted.

so the answer is not?. ok thanks to answer.
Yes I'm using wordpress and auto blog plugin. I modified the text of the link but when i tryed to modify the "target" of the link, the plugin always stop working.
