Increasing a number

Ok I know I can do this by doing a query and then doing +1 to the current number, but is there any other simpler way instead of having to do all queries?

Like say in my row in my table the count field is 1, and I want to make it 2 by adding a 1 to it, is there a simpler way?

Code:

UPDATE counter SET count = count + 1

Something like that in your query should do it.
