how big should the length be for "message" field in PM ?

o kool..same for "comments"/"Posts" right? and is 11 [int] good for id?

I always use 10 int for id's, which doesn't really matter unless you are expecting over 9,999,999 members/posts/comments/whatever.

well using int(10) or int(11) isn't going to make that much of a difference if your going to use long text everywhere ?


comments and pm's are usally smallish, maybe limit there size in some way ?

(if it's unlimited, it in some ways could be used a ddos against your site - what if someone posted a 1meg file over and over in pm / comment / post - it'd kill your site very quickly)

I usually use text, but that is a good point from powerspike, although phpbb seems to be set to text, so that is limited to 65535 which seems quite large.

I believe on most server software the amount of data that can be sent through POST DATA is limited. I think the norm is around 2MB but don't quote me on that
