Anyone know how I can make the word registered or unregistered appear next to a domain name in PHP?

Lets say I have the script return:

ajdhflfhguhfugashdfuahsudhf.com

I want it to return

ajdhflfhguhfugashdfuahsudhf.com--DOMAIN AVAILABLE

Or

ajdhflfhguhfugashdfuahsudhf.com--DOMAIN UNAVAILABLE

I know PHP, I just am not sure how to parse the output that these scripts provide into Available/Unavailable

Well depending on how far you've gotten on the script if it's available just do an if statement with variables right next to each other (if whois comes back as available then $domainvariable-Available, then else $domainvariable-Unavailable - example).

Do you have any of the script done? Try looking on hotscripts for examples of a whois script.

Most of those are classes so first you need to declare the class with new. THan you need to process it with the given variables to the functions than you probably just need to do a simple if/else command to print out.

If whois output gives you something similar to what whois.sc gives you, you could look at http://whois.domaintools.com/blahbla...savailable.com

You could do a strpos() to see if "is available" is in the page, and based on that give your output.

if you use 1 of the classes from http://www.phpclasses.org/ it is just a case of finding out what the class returns in the event of the domain not being registered. The problem with checking for a certain string in the output is that different extensions contain different strings in the event of the domain not registered ie:-

.com = No match for
au.com = No domains matched your search

No match for is what is used for most but not all. Any decent class should disect the received data and tell you if it is registered or not.
