On my personal blog www.peterfoti.com i want to make categories of links

How do i do this?

Edit the sidebar file in the theme editor

It worked for me.

you can do that in the admin panel, just create categories for the links.. easy as that

I added new categories, but it still only shows up as links, see www.peterfoti.com

In order for them to display on the top menu they need to be "Pages" or you can just simple edit the template and add them yourself.

In my theme editor, it just says "If this theme was editable, you could save changes" and the pages just create sub pages, hence about and contact.

Thats because they need to be 0777 (Chmodded) in order to allow writing to pages.

What should i chmod in my ftp?

ftp into your server and then into the theme folder which is being used on wordpress, select the files and chmod them to 777. I use coreftp which means I right click the selected files and choose properties and change them there but all ftp programs vary as to how they do this.
