Need help with phpbb frontpage.

Well hi,
I am not a big time programmer. It took me nearly 3 hours to finish a portal page. Still I have problems. So, I am posting one here. Have a look on the page I just worked at:

www. yahoofanclub .com / portal.php
Remove the spaces coz I know google will find that page.

You see those two Login Boxs. one on the top and one on the right side. When someone logs in, he's redirected to forum index. Instead of that I want the user to be redirected to portal.php and the two Login box should change into Welcome [username] and a Logout Button. Also I want to include the forum stats ( I mean the posting count and who's online on the right side Block)

PLease can anyone help me.
