I just developed an AI robot for a client that wanted a Rock Papper Scissors game, would you guys mind testing it's effectiveness? Thanks!

doesnt seem very fair.. i got beat. bad. lol
Especially the longer you play.

I chose ROCK 50 times in a row and got the following results:

CPU: 49
Player: 1

The CPU chose paper almost everytime. Why is that?

Yea I had similar results when i picked the same thing over and over.

It learns patterns, if you pick the same thing over and over again, then thats an easy pattern to learn.

Okay, I was wondering if that was what was going on. What kind of backend do you have working there that it can learn patterns?

Real nice. I played it first to fifty and it beat me.

CPU wins = 50
Player win = 46
ties = 53

Player
Rock: 47
Paper: 46
Scissor: 56

CPU
Rock: 46
Paper: 35
Scissor: 68

very nice script. i beat it up to 15, but then it started winning.

I'm using ColdFusion, but I guess that doesn't matter much, any server side langauge will do. What the program does is remembers you last 6 moves. Then it stores that as a "combo", it can store up to 30 combos. even turn after the 6th move it references your "combo" against it's library, if it finds a match, it plays the winning move. If it gets behind by more than 3 games, it will go into defense mode and pick attacks randomly.

Try this -- take the pattern prediction ability away from it by rolling a die to decide what to choose. Since your own picks will be random, you should win 50% of the time in theory.
