| NamePros Regular | Quoted from Wikipedia "Dereferer Since a web server and site can log where visitors have apparently arrived from (ie the page which was clicked to reach the page they are loading), there are a number of dereferer services, which allow web pages to link to others without giving meaningful referer information. An example of a derefered link using a common dereferer service is: * http://ultimod.org/?url=http://en.wikipedia.org/ In the above example, your browser first goes to the ultimod.org site and then is redirected to en.wikipedia.org. To the wikipedia server, it appears that the referer was on ultimod.org, not on this page which would normally be considered the referring page. [edit] "

![]() | Hey kslup_k, You CANNOT track the referer of a referer. If you owned 3 websites, and you wanted to track referering from one to another, that's possible, but you cannot get the referer of a 3rd website. If a person were to go to: Google.com > somewebsite.com > yourwebsite.com You could only get the referer 'somewebsite.com', you could never get 'google.com' unless ofcourse you owned the website 'somewebsite.com' then you could pass the referer 'google.com' on to the next website in hidden data. So the short answer: No. Quote:
, either he owned all the websites he was using as referers, or he did something else fake lolAll the best, Rhett.

| NamePros Regular | I think i must have worded it wrongly and some misunderstanding between my friend and me. Billy, you are right about your previous post. There is no way we can track according to Billy's post, and i agree with that. However, here is a trick that cost me $20. From google.com -> somepage.com AND that somepage.com is redirected to funnypage.com and guess what, the referer from funnypage.com would show google.com i didnot referer worked like that, and apparently he does. I hope i cleared this mess up.
