Yes I know ... google analytycs are great ... but I 'm regitred by 2 weeks and I dont still have access and second my pages will load slowly if I use google analytics.
Ah the same happened here, I had to wait about 3 weeks, but i'm in now . But the code from google's analytics really doesn't slow down your web pages at all, sine the code is placed right at the bottom of the page before the </body> tag, you should be 100% fine .
The reason awstats is so widely used, is basically because it's the best free statistic make out there. Non-custom made one I mean.
Probably you are right with google analytics ... I still wait for the code ...
