Hello,

warning....you could laugh at this one!

PHP<> when I get an error and it says XXXXXXXX line 234, I open that file in wordpad and arrow done counting each line till I get to it.
WHAT A PAIN IN THE A**!

There has to be a better way....help please.

agreed, it is the best piece of free software i have used, i use it for everything.

Notepad can go to a line for you - no need for fancy, cluttered software!

Just press CTRL + G.

Note that Word Wrap must be OFF for it to work, which can be turned on/off at the Format menu.

I use Zend. Not free but you have a debugger, code completion etc.
IMO worth the price if you are a hardcore PHPer.

Another good one is Xint - just like notepad, but with a line counter

Although I have tested some listed and they are good too,

You know you are hitting bottom when you have it opened in notepad or word and sit there with the arrow down counting each line!!

and wifey is looking at ya rollin her eyes.......

Even notepad will tell you the line number. Look in the bottom right corner. You can also try Edit -> Go to -> Line Number
