Sad Pop under counter vs site web stats?

I put some code to test a pop under window on my index.html page. This is where I got the code from:

This is the page I am testing:
http://www.BigDog2.com

The code seems to work well, but I am not showing very many hits at my pop up site. I also had a counter on the index.html page that showed low counts. My Web stats show that I am getting about 200 unique visitors a day, but this pop under only comes up 2 or 3 times a day. I have heard that you can really rely on web stats that much, but this seem way off.

Any Ideas why this might be happening. I don't know if I am really getting visits or not?

Some users have pop-up blockers installed, but I don't think this could have shaved 98%+ of your hits. Something else is going on.

My suggestion is don't use a pop-up or pop-under counter at all. Use a decent PHP script or just webstats.

Hi Jeanco, Thanks for your suggestion. I have regular counter installed from my web host and it is not seem to be close to what the hosting webstats are showing. The webstats page at my hosting company shows that I am getting 200 unique visits a day, but the counter on the index.html only show 4 or 5 visits. My webhost people say just not to trust the webstat pages, but these are the pages I see posted all the time showing visit counts. I am at quite as loss as to why there is such a big difference. It almost looks like the webstats is not working at all?

I wish there was someway I could find out really just how much traffic is comming to the site.
