Php oracle connection

Okay Here is what I want to do. I have:
Oracle 8i running on Suse
Webserver running apache on a seperate machine (redhat)
I want to create a web based app using php with Dreamweaver MX. What steps do I take to accomplish this? How would I be able to connect to that oracle DB? Are there any tutorials on the web that deals with this issue?
