HTML table cell heights

Hello!

i'm new to webdesign and having a go at creating a simple table layout in dreamweaver mx. I've split up the cells etc how i want but the cell height will not reduce below the value of 16? i.e the cursor height? i want some cells to be far less in height than this?

any ideas?

thanks!

G

<td height=1> maybe? or is that how you're doing it? Also, if you put some text or anything else in the cell it will increase accordingly.

make sure there are none of these &nbsp; characters. They are used to hold a place without displaying anything. Problem is, if you get one within a cell then that cell won't go any shorter than a set amount.
