| Account Closed | Ajax is not java. It is javascript. Javascript is a client side scripting language. And yes, it should work. All ajax libraries are, are a package that let php, perl, ruby, ASP, ect... have some functions that generate javascript that will also work with the scripting language. If you search on google, you can find multiple php versions, and other scripting languages versions for free download, that are open source. I have a friend who is doing something like this... but not javascript, Visual script (for the internet explorer browser) not sure why he is doing this, but he is. How it works: XMLhttp request For php: http://www.google.com/search?client=...=Google+Search I personally use XOAD. |

| NamePros Member | Virtually any server can be used to perform AJAX-style programming. Including Linux. I am currently developing a CMS system utilizing asynchronous transfers. It's extremely fast, so I call it FastCMS. The cool thing about it, is that it uses the native XML support that XHTML provides, so there is no need for extraneous programming to get the same effect. It's simple and effective. Last edited by tzmartin; 12-13-2005 at 02:32 PM. |
