![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I'm trying to learn PHP right now too. I'm reading "PHP and MySQL for Dynamic Web Sites" by Larry Ullman. It's one of the best PHP guides out there and out of the tens of reviews I've read on it, they all give A+ recommendations to the book. I'm only to about 65 pages in it so far but he does an excellant way of explaining things. |

![]() | A free and fabulous resource really is http://www.w3schools.com . They've got great tutorials on HTML, CSS, but also PHP and other server-side scripts.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | One of the best ways I've found, (what worked for me/really got me started), is of course the usual... The online manual at www.php.net . Plus taking free scripts etc and just messing around with them, reading tutorials ( http://www.pixel2life.com/tutorials/PHP_Coding/All/ ) and whatnot. Sure, there's some great books out there, but there are some "free" ways of learning. And not worth it when you are first starting out... |

i would recommend getting a good book in addition to all the info online (once again i highly suggest (based on my experience) getting larry ullman's book) while you can get tons of excellant info online, there is a huge advantage to having a book which systematically goes through everything. i dont regret the money i spent on those books in the slightest. that being said you should still take advantage of all the great (free!) info out there i would start with w3schools.com and webmonkey.com good luck!
