Very simple HTML question

When a checkbox is checked what is its value? is it 1, or true?

The checkbox always has a value.
The difference is that if the checkbox is not checked and the form submitted, the checkbox will not be included in the POST request so you can tell it wasn't checked... Hope this explanation makes sense

um, are you saying if its not checked it wont be sent along with teh rest of the formdata?

To test it you can use code like this to see the form data output:
