How do I install a free php shopping cart using php and mysql

I have been trying for days to install any php shopping cart software. I have tried Kcart and phppal. The instructions just seem to be to vague or either I am just missing something. I am using lxhost as the hosting company. For the phppal I get a blank page that says in tesing at the top and for kcart I get

Fatal error: Undefined class name 'kcart_usercart' in /home/vhosts/audiovoxhack.lxhost.com/kcart/index.php on line 9

This is what I got when I installed Oscommerce

FATAL ERROR: register_globals is disabled in php.ini, please enable it!

I do not have access to the php.ini it is not a local install and I doubt my hosting company will enable register_globals. Is there a link to a fixed version of Oscommerce that I can download?
