This is gonna be fun....(PHPbb)

..I think not. Hey, I have a new challenge which faces me. You guys are great and I'm sure you'll help me out. Basically.. I have a website with a registration system and I have a PHPbb forum for that site with a different registration system. What I want is for the user to sign up for the site and also be signed up for the forum. So I guess I will have to use two MySQL INSERTS.

The reason for this is that users get site points for posting in the forum which works well when they use the same username to register in the forum. But if they don't... lol

Other problems :: Users may sign up to the forum first but as a solution I may have to disable the registration system for the forum.
????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/programming/124405-this-is-gonna-be-fun-phpbb.html

In short::: How do I Integrate PHPbb into an already existing website with a registration system.

Thanks guys.

Well, it seems complex, but it all depends on what the "other" registration and login system you're using. Instead of querying the database and inserting the information into the current system, you are going to want to collect all the details that phpBB requires and ask for them upon regisration with your current form.

If you have some knowledge with PHP, this should be a fairly easy (and mundane) task.

To wrap up, it would depend on what information is needed upon registration of phpBB and formatting that into your current form.

Best of luck

Yep, just use one database instead of 2. Simple stuff.

in the website database why not just link the user table with the user table for the forum.

So when someone registers on their site present them with a form where they can enter their forum username.

Nah, it's just not gonna happen. Is there a BASIC forum out there which can easily be integrated into a website (ie. no stupid timezone, date format, selected language, user default crap) I just want a forum. No tra-dee-da so that even the noviest of the novices can kind of get the jist of the script . Or.. How can I construct a forum like the forum here: http://www.ukchatforums.com

Thanks

Thanks, That appears to be a login script. I just need a forum, the login is already sorted. Or is that the login for the phpBB thing. Looks too confusing. Sorry, I'm a novice who is very very tired
