What is the diffence between it and wordpress. I need to make a very professional blog for a travel site before she submits for a travel author posistion. Hoping to get answers from people who have used both. Currently we use wordpress and i love it but would like to know abotu moveable type also before i think about buying it.

One of the differences that I'm aware of is that MovableType offers you the ability to create unlimited blogs with one installation, at least with a paid license. I think with MT it's a lot easier to create/modify the layout, but that's just me and I'm sure many others think just the opposite. Wordpress is definitely easier to install for users who are not familiar with code in any way.

Movable type can appear to be complicated just to get it going, but if you stick with it long enough you'll probably like it. Another plus for Wordpress is it does not require rebuilding. When you make changes in MT you have to run the rebuilding utility.

There is also a free version of MT available that you might want to try to see what you think.

Well I think I will stick with wordpress then because its only for one person to post on. I thought the difference might have been like comparing phpbb to vb lol
