what do you have a need for?

Well i am about to open my new site and i need ideas for php scripts to create, any ideas people?

I have these ideas currently;

News Script
Content Script (content pages stored in mysql instead of things like aboutus.htm and services.htm you would do content.php?pid=1 etc)

How about not doing those two because they've been done a million times before.

I'm not just being critical here.

My suggestions:

1. PHP statistics script: Where you can display referrers, unique hits etc, ON-SITE. None of this remote, extreme-tracker or anything, nor the on-server stuff. I'd find that quite useful.

2. ROI script: script for adwords so that you can track ROI maybe. Just an idea, but I guess it's not really for your style of site.

3. Good affiliates script: There really are no quality affiliate/link scripts. Maybe this.

Well Liam, using database-driven site is modern, unique way, yet fast and shows that the webmaster is experienced.

Your ideas show that you'll be doing a CMS-like site, yes..what about polls, rating systems, section for articles submitted by users? We need to know what your site will discuss then we can tell more ideas.

However, be very careful ~ It's SQL based - that needs some extra time for you to make sure that your database is secure and cannot be cracked by some bad noses. Make sure you read this: http://www.php.net/manual/en/security.php before proceeding with anything (especially Database security).

And I tell you that everything has downside, a database driven site can be the most powerful thing on net -- and a blameless escaped query can ruin your site.

It's just a note on the side, and I'm sure he already knows about this stuff ~ but since I had to note the downside of using database-driven website.
