masking download url

Hi, does anyone here know how to mask a download url. EX when some clicks a link i have it go thro a count program, then it redirects it to the dl url, but it displays the url in the status bar. I have noticed that other sites have been abloe to get rid of this by placing, download started, or another bit of code to prevent leechers.

thats called anti-leech. i have seen somewhere such a script. go google for it: anti-leech script

if you use cPanel from cpanel.net then in the control panel you will found leech protect so you don't have to search for this in google if your only using cPanel hosting.

no why hotlink protection after that line you will find a icon like this click on that in you cPanel :-
