| NamePros Member | Wondering This summer im going to start learning some sort of a database language... i would like to knw what you guys recommend and what NEWBIE book like the dummies book do you recommend, along with what i need to have on my computer to be able to execute the database when i m learning. Thanks

| Senior Member | aal814, SQL all way, its a standard database language. It has a fairly easy, understandable syntax. You can learn PHP and use mySQL databases to create database driven sites, they are a good twin together IMO. If you want to run a database system on your PC, I think you could setup a small, private local web server, and get php and mysql installed from their original sites, and there you go. If you need assistance with this, let me know. |
