![]() | Making a living off AdSense - Is it possible? Hi, I've just started putting Google Adsense ads on my webpages a couple months ago and so far have been somewhat disappointed with the returns. Is anyone here making a living off AdSense, and if so, what kind of traffic does your website have to generate? I'd love to hear any success stories that you've had with Adsense, and what you have done to maximize your income. (I'm not interested in hearing about illegal means, though.) |

Number: You can have up to 3 ads on each page. Take full advantage and place 3 ads on each page. I am very surprised to still see lots of webmasters with only 1 ad per page. What a waste of opportunity! positioning: place ad code in the most conspicuous areas of your pages, e.g. the very top of the page. size: use the largest possible sizes. The 728x90 leaderboard is the best in my experience, and I use 160x600 or 120x600 skyscapers for sidebars. color: last but certainly not least. A lot of people use color combinations that are very pretty and would earn them a gold star from a web design teacher but pretty colors = blending-in too much = less visibility = less clicks. I suggest using a white background, blue for URL color and a border that contrasts sharply with your page's background. I find that a red border works best in most cases. ????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/ppc-cpc-cpm-programs/74544-making-a-living-off-adsense-possible.html As always, IMO. I'd love to help with more tips but you know how it is with violating TOS AmCy

![]() | ya Agreed, making living off adsense is a ball game in itself. People do it and ive meet a few. But i wouldnt ever put my rent in there hands. They can not pay you for any reason and you woudnt know it for 20 days after the pay period. I like the extra kick of cash but wouldnt rely on them 100% if you ever got the kind of traffic to make a living you could sell ads for more than what they pay

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | There will be possibilities that you make a lot of fortune by adsense, but depending on it as your living is somewhat unstable. There may be chance that you will be disabled even if you do nothing wrong in which case you will lose your income support if you make a living on it. Better find a stable job and use adsense as an extra income. IMO.

If your revenue is 10K or more then I think one could make a go of it. But there are too many variables involved so depending on it would not be prudent, IMO. ????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/showthread.php?t=74544 AmCy

![]() | Thanks to everyone for your replies! Just to follow up on my original post, I've just found an article that sheds some light on Adsense earnings. Google's AdSense a bonanza for some Web sites By Jefferson Graham, USA TODAY LOS ANGELES — Canadian software developer and part-time humorist Eric Gigučre made fun of the avalanche of Internet arthritis drug offers on his Web site last year. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I have also been disappointed with the great Goo gle advertising system. I have tried all kinds of combinations, etc and have made about very little. I think part of it is the subject of my site. Art ads are not good keywords. Also artists are usually a bit more conservative about clicking on ads. I also think that the busier the site is with things to do the less people click on ads because they are distracted. I have an associate that has very little on the web page (it's only 4 pages), but he does pretty good for the traffic he gets (which is very little), much better than I do. ????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/showthread.php?t=74544 BTW, when I tried putting up the white background ads, I got complaints left and right about how it was too visible. Go figure. That's artists for ya... |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | If you had enough traffic to make a living off of ads, you probably wouldn't even need them as your sales on your products would be enough, if your site is selling something. I think it is still some good spare cash on the side until you get to that point. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | The Manor is a labor of love more than anything. It was never meant to be a profit gatherer. It costs very little to run and it's kinda a vanity thing more than anything I guess. So if it's a loss leader, that's okay. I've tried to tweak it the best I could to get some money out of it, but I have to think there may not be money to be made. I can see that G ads have potential, which is why I need to get up off my butt and put together a site that is aimed at the more clickable market instead of what I'm doing now and stop complaining... |
