DomainSponsor >>> via Afternic Help!

I visited Afternic today and seen that I can park on Afternic and also domain sponsor. It says pays 100% of revenue.

I've heard both good and bad about Afternic but mostly bad. Anyone have anything to say about this? I'm currently at DomainSponsor now but I wouldn't mind taking a look at other options availabe, especially if I can optimize myself on afternic and still have them go into DS.

Do we get paid professionally and on time from Afternic, I've hear other but I want some honest opinions. Afternic is welcome to post an answer to this as well.

Thanks!

It's a relatively new option as far as I know, so with any new program there is a bit of the "unknown" that adds to the risk factor.
You might wait a bit until anyone has any better answers, because as of now there are plenty of program alternatives already (sedo, dh, fab, ds, etc.).

YOU SHOULD WEIGH ALL THE PLUSES AND MINUSES[]. I WILL TRY TO MENTION THOSE RELATED TO MY AFTERNIC DH PART-MONTH EXPERIENCE.

As far as paying 100%, that’s what they say they are doing. However, I didn’t see a 100% guarantee it will continue forever[a possible minus]. More importantly, how does it compare net net $ with DS direct. Unfortunately, a conclusion may not yet be possible.

For my initial test, I parked 3 of my worst domains at the beginning of January with Afternic’s DH parking option. I think for weeks, Afternic stupid “Domains for Sale page” plus what may be the world’s most uninspiring search choices showed up[a minus]. In all fairness, Afternic just started this new parking option at the beginning of January. Today, the landing page is an absolutely routine DS page PLUS what appears to be AN AFTERNIC FRAME AT THE TOP[a minus]! I think that is one step less than parked at DS, but it is up do you if you think it would effect your revenue.

Afternic's choice, allows you to consolidate or change between four parking services (Afternic, DH, DS, & Fab) in one account [a big plus]. Also, Afternic pays paypal, not all services do [a plus].

I haven’t noted any Afternic choices available related to optimizing DH pages. So it could be there is NO optimization choice or maybe you have to e-mail them to optimize? So what don’t even wait for DS, you can immediately self-optimize by going to your DH page and just searching a keyword a few times – just don’t click.[neutral]

That question is too deep inside you other complex issues to get noticed. I suggest that you: 1. E-mail Afternic your questions and 2. create a separate post asking that. Drop professional as it is irrelevant (eg. I get paid big bucks like an unprofessionally slut ). You could ask: 1. When did you get your Afternic January funds? 2. Did it include other parking service searches? 3. How did it compare to DH direct?). As I said, because there hasn’t been a complete month, the jury is still out (even so, a comparison of one-month may be inadequate anyway).

Good luck.

Thank you both for the information. I did not realize this just started as I haven't been back to afternic in quite some time. I also haven't been on domain sponsor very long and it seems as though I'm getting less hits on DS than I was on Sedo.

This is some good information and a very good response William. I'm just now considering afternic but I'll wait to hear from them too.

I've learned that emailing the company with these questions or similiar questions is usually a joke because all they want to do is sell you. They paint a prettier picture than what's really to be seen.

Thanks for your comments, I'll look into this further and I'll do the optimizing thing too.

Justin

I have been testing both the DS and Fab option on afternic for about a month now.

Basically I pulled out a few domains from my DS or Fab account and parked them on Afternic with either the DS or Fab parking option.

Results are surprisingly good, revenue equals or approximates the revenue when I parked the domains in DS. I also like the framed for sale header that Afternic generates on the top of the landing page, looks very professional.

Example : 1m2.com

I'd say that afternic is a good choice for those with few domains and are having problems trying to get approved at DS.

I enjoy very much Afternic BUT this month they get real script problem as most of the time the names recently listed/parked get stucked in their "Parking not verified/Parking failed". This has nothing to do with NS redirections from the registrar, so unless you contact Afternic directly to raise your own issue you can sit on the visibility of your names & loose PPC earnings for days/weeks....

Hmm. I put my names on there and did not change anything on my paid subscription. Well I found that others had 4 of my names listed. So I sent them emails to kindly remove my name from their portfolio.

Anyway, I had no problem logging into my account yesterday and doing all this. I also logged onto their forum and asked a similiar question to what you see here. That question seems to have disapeared! Either that or cant find it but I searched my subscribed threads and went through all their threads. Wanted to see what the repsonse was.

Well then I went to afternic again to optimize my names and I can't log in. I use Mozilla so it logs me in automatically, all I do is click the profile. I can't log into my account now. Not at all! I tried all my forum IDs and logins.... So I tried to .. well ok, I forgot my password so I'll have them send it to me. My email, not there.... all my email addresses, not on their system.

Now, yesterday, fine, today nothing. If they can't handle that, I wonder how accurate their parking and scripts are. Oh, searched for one of my names I just added the day before, they're on there.

I'm interested to hear more. I want to park my names to get stats and pay for themselves.
