Can bots click banner ads?

This may be a silly question. If it is, please be gentle. Can bots click on banner advertisements?

My website has a program that tracks banner clicks. It shows that I have had 1500 impressions for a certain banner, but only 26 clicks. This leads me to think that they were actual human users, but I wanted to get a professional opinion, or fact.

Thanks for your indulgence.

Bot actually runs your javascript code and follow that link. So yes they can follow ads too.
You can try to add nofollow to that link but I don't know how to do that.
