Does anyone know how long it takes for "Relevancy Approval" at DomainHop. I moved some of my higher traffic names to them to see how they perform, and now I sit and wait. Time is money!
Just FWIW, I'm not sure it's kosher to have a domain in their list without having it pointed to them first, and I know you can't leave it there if you redirect it away from domain hop.
Since last 6 months, I have over 400 domains listed up there of which less than 30% or so are directed to them. Occasionally, I change the redirection of my domains from one provider to another and there has never been a problem. All of my domains are listed at DS, Sedo and DH. However, I redirect only those domains to a certain provider where they get the maximum conversion. This also requires occasional rotation which is quick since I don't have to manually add them everytime.
I have been doing this since last 6 months and there was never a problem.
The main reason changing redirection is against various TOS is when it is used to redirect poorly converting traffic to theservice. PPC programmes rely on a certain conversion ratio in order to make money. Many services reserve the right to terminate you account if you don't meet it. Theres business reasoning behind this if anyone needs it explained.
This results in different click rates for traffic from different regions. Hypothetically speaking $0.10 from North America, $0.05 from Europe, $0.01 from Asia. Some places pay nothing for certain traffic because they don't have advertisers that can sell to those regions. Some pay a flat rate based on an average of clicks and traffic, lets say $0.05 regardless of what region it is from. This is dangerous, but simplifies their business, so it if frequently used...and frequently abused.
People will park on their own server and redirect to a parking service based on the origin on the user. US traffic will go the the one who pays most for US traffic, and the same goes for European and Asian. So now some company is paying $0.05 for Asian traffic that is only worth $0.01.
One might argue that they bet that 80% of all traffic was going to be US, and lost. But if you took an active part in denying them this US traffic you are cheating them. This is the same reason many ads can only be placed on English language websites.
