Question Adwords & Signups

The last time I used Adwords, it was for a saturated-niche community site and I did get a few signups. I can't really say if it was worth it or not because I only used it for a few months and I was also working on other SEO methods as well as some offline marketing.

I want to try using it again, but I don't know how much I should spend to see some good results. Has anyone in here tried using Adwords and seen some remarkable results?

Other peoples' results are no way to predict how well you/your site will do because there are so many individual factors involved:

Your keywords,
Your bid prices
Your ad copy
Your landing page
Your competitors' keywords, ad copy and landing pages
How well your ad copy and keywords attract people who are likely to sign up for your offer

Do you feel confident using Adwords? A lot of people who end up losing money via Adwords are lacking in knowledge about using the system.

I'd suggest that the best way for you to get results without spending too much is to make sure that you know what you're doing. If you're not sure then you'll need to learn, or to hire some expertise.

I'd also be wary of the fact that Adwords advice offered online is of fairly variable quality.
