Would textual affiliate ads (that look like adsense) be better?

I have until a whil ago, only tried out adsense. Looken at the low number of visitors I've had, there has been a high ctr and relatively good payout.

In these days we have all heard of people loosing their adsense accounts.
Even by people who claim they have done nothing wrong. Someone with 10
good sites, with good content and adsense shouldn't be banned just because some idiot one day is clicking like a madman on a page. It is impossible to
????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/ppc-cpc-cpm-programs/533610-would-textual-affiliate-ads-look-like.html
be safely protected against that, unless there would be a script disabling anyone from the same IP to click more than, say 5 times (btw is it possible to implement such a thing?). I thought of omit the adsense on my pages for a time in order to "conciliate" Google, as a proof to show that my pages are ment to be, for readers, not for adsense, even though that is my goal from the beginning (I made pages long before using adsense). And then get back to it bit by bit.
And meanwhile, try out other affiliates. Also because it seems as there is no good ppc alternative to adsense, afterall is there?

However, I thought I would try out Amazon on some of my targeted product pages. With amazon, the ads can be chosen and 100% associated, what adsense never can reach up to. There are plenty of ways to choose, design and put those ads in a page. So I did. But sofar... bad bad bad. With Adsense good, with Amazon not good. So I realized, it just has to be the image ads, that people just don't like it. The majority of clicks to Amazon was on textual links. And maybe the image ads annoy the readers.

Then I thought, if I create boxes with textual ads in the way Adsense looks, and of course without having adsense at the same time, would there be more clicks, and then also orders? I don't think many have tried this but it would be interesting to see. There is certainly a reason why Adsense has its look.

Difference is you get paid for every click in ppc but only for sales when it comes to affiliates. So I think you will get a better CTR for your affiliate ads but if won't make people buy things.

I do agree with you, the domains in my sig i added image ads and extra content widgets and lowered my textual ads.

It's been a BIG disappointment. Earnings have dived. People love clicking on adsense textual ads for some bizarre reason.

Mind you the textual clicks pay bugger all now too. Looks like your screwed either way.
